What is the current status of HR in Romania?

Ensight Management Consulting presents the results of its study regarding the current status of human resources in companies operating in Romania. The scope of this initiative was to make a diagnosis of the HR function maturity.

In brief, the results of the study show the following:

  • Building modern HR is the most important role of Romanian HR functions
  • HR is well integrated in the companies’ strategy development process and contributes significantly in its implementation
  • Talent management is the top priority for HR
  • Strong desire for HR to develop/further improve Transparent Career Models, Competency Management and Leadership/Management development
  • Performance management is widely implemented, but offers a lot of room for further improvement
  • The HR function still lacks acknowledgement from the company. The HR function has to work towards being accepted as a partner for the business.

The study “CRM in the Romanian Banking System” proves that, even if several years ago talking about Customer Relationship Management (CRM) in banking did not make too much sense, nowadays this topic is on every bank’s agenda. The Romanian market has rapidly caught up with international trends in this area and we can say that, finally, CRM is no longer a stranger for banks active on the Romanian market. On the contrary, the topic is quite “hot” and every bank has already implemented some sort of CRM solutions, from very simple to very sophisticated ones.

How are Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) used in Romanian companies

Ensight Management Consulting has conducted in the second half of 2010 a study on the use of key performance indicators (KPI) in Romanian companies. The results show that 81% of the surveyed companies have already adopted such indicators to verify the degree of compliance with strategic objectives, to ensure the transparency of the results, as well as to assess their departments and/or individuals.

Most companies admit the utility of implementing and tracking KPIs, by highlighting the benefits in improving the decision-making process, followed by reducing operational costs and increasing customer satisfaction. Especially during the economic crisis, the main advantages of using KPIs are the identification of corrective actions and the facilitation of a more realistic perspective on the situation of the company.

Business Process Redesign National Study, 2010 Edition

The 2010 BPR national study continues the tradition Ensight started two years ago of offering support to the Romanian companies to increase their performance through business process optimization.

To highlight the best practices in the organization of BPR projects the extended report also includes a comparative analysis between companies that have achieved significant success and those that have achieved a modest success.

In addition, we are pleased that 100% of the participants in this study who launched BPR projects were successful. The fact that a high number of the respondents are part of the management or are directly involved in BPR projects allows us to have a high degree of confidence in the results of this study. The degree of achieving the benefits depends on the rigor with which the recommendations will be taken into account.

The First National Business Process Redesign (BPR) Study in Romania, 2008 Edition

We intended that the first BPR study realized in our country reflects in the best way the Romanian companies’ situation. We also wanted to lead to a better understanding of BPR concepts and to generate useful tools to guide companies when running BPR projects.

This study involved 41 dynamically growing companies, leaders in their area of activity, acting in highly competitive sectors.

Data collection and processing were completed exclusively by Ensight Management Consulting.
